Mini Trees release emotional new single "Take it Back"

"Take it Back" sounds like an intimate story come to life. As if stumbling into an open diary, the reflective new single by Mini Trees - the solo project of singer-songwriter Lexi Vega - establishes a meditative mood which befits its patient catharsis. Vega is not a showy performer - her raw vocal delivery is meant to absorb and not impress the listener, as it's an affective force which underscores the song's lingering guitar lead. It's also imbued with a gentle ambiance, an element which adds and never disrupts its true essence and further reveals her emotional authenticity.

Given that this is the beginning of Vega's project, it's only a matter of time until she makes a visit to your venue of choice. - Juan Rodríguez

Deli NYC Premiere: The YeahTones release new single "Son of a Gun" ahead of new EP

Just in time for you to blast it through your speakers with the top down, The YeahTones have released their newest single "Son of a Gun" ahead of their new EP Lightning, which is set to drop this fall. They return on this track with the same brash rock that drove listeners to a frenzy on 2016's Eviction Notice; front man Jake Pinto's voice comes screaming like a set of wheels peeling out of a driveway, with the rest of the band fueling the roaring engine as they take your eardrums at 100 miles an hour down a desert road. Grammy-nominated engineer Claudius Mittendorfer mixed the track; he's known for his work with Weezer and Panic at the Disco. On top of that, "Son of a Gun" was also recently featured in Season 8 of Shameless. Watch for Lightning to drop this fall, and listen to "Son of a Gun" below. - Will Sisskind

Clean Spill share video for new single "Rolling," play SoHo House on 8/31

When love takes a sad and dark turn, it's best to try to relax and kick back with your friends. Pat Curren, the lead singer of indie rock band Clean Spill, tries to get over a heartache by playing with his friends on the video for their latest single, "Rolling." The romantic track follows a surfy, fifties rock style with an early aughts indie rock bent, which paired with Curren's garbly, yet emotive vocal delivery, showcases their buoyant personality. Maybe Curren doesn't get his desired outcome as it concludes, but judging by this promising track - and with a little help from his friends - the future looks quite bright.

"Rolling" is the latest single off of Clean Spill's forthcoming EP, Nothing's on My Mind, which comes out later this summer. Catch them at SoHo House in Santa Barbara on August 31. Juan Rodríguez
